WHATS XWHOIS?

	xwhois is a small and fast query tool for the whois service. (rfc954)
	It has been compiled and tested on the following platforms:

	Linux 2.x ix86
	SUN Solaris 2.6 SPARC
	Digital Unix V4.0 Alpha
	Silicon Graphics IRIX 6.3 IP32
	Silicon Graphics IRIX 5.3 IP20
	OpenBSD 2.3 ix86

	It should build and run fine on most UNIX flavors.

	Xwhois is distributed under the GNU General Public License.

INSTALLING

	xwhois requires the GTK+ toolkit 1.x, latest GTK can be found at,
	ftp://ftp.gtk.org/pub/gtk/

	To build xwhois run:

	make

	After compiling, to install:

	as superuser (root):

	make install

	or as local user:

	cp xwhois.servers $HOME/.xwhois.servers

USAGE

	Chose whois server for the list and type the domain, name or keyword you want
	information about in the entry field and hit enter or press the submit button.
	If you for some reason want to use a external whois (Sun Solaris, etc) or
	fwhois (Linux), chose it in the dragdown menu.
